Note that BUILD_DIR is usually not set for local builds; current Makefile looks like this: OBJTREE := $(if $(BUILD_DIR),$(BUILD_DIR),$(CURDIR)) SRCTREE := $(CURDIR) TOPDIR := $(SRCTREE) ... ifneq ($(OBJTREE),$(SRCTREE)) ...
