Rather than getting the local perspective secondhand across the pond, I would recommend, for any who are interested in the story, going to the Internet presence of Gannet's KUSA-TV (sister station of WUSA-TV) at 9news.com and watching the local newscasts. As the story gets older, more minutia will be presented rather than an quick overview, but it is also a good way to continue following the story once it drops off the national radar (or becomes polemicised).
