So my question is: If Trojita will use QtKeychain library, do we need qt interface plugin API for password storage in Trojita?
Hi Pali, sorry for delay -- I wanted to know what others are thinking, and I let this question slip away after that. It seems that QtKeychain won't help users of "lightweight" DEs and that there are people out there who really, really like password storage to be available all the time. Therefore, I'm now convinced that having a password API is something that we should have. It seems to me that the QtKeychain shall be the core of one such plugin. In order to prevent breakage, I'd also like to have some trivial plugin which would just store passwords in plaintext on disk (to prevent regression for current users). If you have time, it would be cool to extend this simple plugin with something like a master password as well. I'd prefer to discuss whether to do this within the GSoC later on when we know how much time you have. Agreed? Cheers, Jan -- Trojitá, a fast Qt IMAP e-mail client -- http://trojita.flaska.net/
