Title:
Speakers and headphones plays on low volume after update from 11.04 to
  11.10

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
My speakers and headphones used to be able to play perfectly loud and
clear. After I updated from 11.04 to 11.10 I can hardly hear any
thing. I've checked all preferences in the sound menu and all the
programs that I usually play my media through, but I cant find the
source for the problem. The volume is on high in all the programs and
the main controller but still the sound is very low. I can hear some
sound if I but my ear right next to the speakers but that's all.

Don't know if I submitted the right packages or not. Tell me if you
  need further information.
