Hi Rick, I use the icon embedded, they are so small anyway, 16 x 16 I think. When I have imported the icon, I rename it to $:/favicon.ico. I do not think the size matters that much, as it will just shrink, but if yours is 37 wide by 16 high it would not be easy to recognise (I think). I does work for me, but when I have many tabs open in the browser, and much going on, the icon is not always shown. It is never deleted. I do not understand how your banner.ico could be deleted from you trying to make favicon work.
