I'll chime in here as well, I've got an ancient MFC-8860DN laser printer at home and it's got to be 8-10 years old and it's given flawless service. I've replaced toner a few times, maybe once for the drum. Cost around $400 when I got it, and when it jams it's easy to fix and keep moving.

Jams (which are rare, and typically have more to do with humidity or vastly unsuitable materials[1]) are easy to clear, and non-persistent. Mileage, as always, varies. cheers!
