Thanks for all the suggestions, definitely looking like the Brothers are worth a look, a vendor I hadn't considered yet.
As I've been researching this I've come across some dedicated 'address printers' that I'm now thinking might be a better fit for this application. They are more expensive than general-purpose printers but they are designed for doing envelopes and card stock of various thicknesses, at high volume.
I'm finding a bunch of vendors I've never even heard of - Secap, FP, Rena. Some of the 'production' systems are crazy money and overkill for what we need. But there are a few in the sub-2K-dollar range that might be worth a look.
Anybody have something like this at $WORK?
