For example, I have a Canon 6D with built-in wifi, in raw mode, it's pictures
are quite large (35M for a 20mp image). It has several built-in capabilities to
send to common sites or a ftp server, plus I can configure it as an AP and
connect to it from my tablet to look through it's pictures (at fairly low 2mp or
so resolution), or even control the camera (great for long exposure shots)
HD video is only 2mp, so if you are getting things from a video camera you don't
have a lot of data to pass to just get a single image
If you are wanting to view video, that changes things.

Thanks. I don't want to do this over the net as 4g or even 3g access is
spotty and is too slow for what i want.as far as resolution the standard
camera resolution is okay. We don't need hi-def as those files would be too
big

It depends on the camera. Axis cameras, for example (most models), can run
poe and store to a flash card, send via email, or store to a cifs server,
as well as having various triggers and the ability to have various view
zones, and send images or video. Some models also have wifi. They have
literally dozens of combinations of models

Subject: [lopsa-tech] Looking for mobile wifi setup for sharing files
Outside of work i coach high school football. We are now allowed to use
cameras, tablets and laptops on the sidelines. I am trying to figure out how
to share photos from the press box down to the sidelines. We have electric
at home in the press box and in most away games so i figured i could just
use our cisco wifi router from the office and then the person with a wifi
enabled camera could share the photos to a person on the sideline with a
tablet or ipad.
Question is do these wifi enabled cameras share out their network card?
Just looking for someone who has knowledge of these cameras. These are
images not videos.
