Then to me it sounds like a problem similar to what Stephen mentioned. Sounds as if either the sim card somehow is intermittenly losing its connection or you're getting some bad updates from the carrier. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Durber" <d.dur...@gmail.com>

Brad:

I could understand your explanation about the internal battery, if I had to reset the date and time, each time I turn on the phone, in the same way I would need to do, if the battery on a computer motherboard, dropped dead or the charge in such a battery was too low to maintain BIOs and date and time settings.

The problem is, that I get prompted for the date and time, on an intermittant basis.

Don't worry, when I am in Manhattan again, I will go to Jack's Place, which is a company which sells and repairs cell/mobile devices and ask them to check the phone's internal battery.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber

As I said before, sounds like the internal battery for keeping track of such things is dead and needs to be replaced. On that note I'm not sure how this is done except sending it to a Nokia facility or other such place. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Durber" <d.dur...@gmail.com>

Hello Scott:

When I turn on my N86, I am often prompted for the date and time.

As I have the automatic date and time function turned on, I just press Soft Key 1, twice to accept the date and time and the phone goes to the Standby screen.

The phone then goes out and obtains the correct date and time information.

This behaviour is happening often enough, that it is annoying, to say the least.

Like scott, is there a way to permanently fix this problem.

sincerely:

Dave Durber

Hi
What is people's experience when a phone is not keeping the correct date? Battery issue? Sim card issue? Battery seems to charge properly .I do not
have a data package to correct the date and time.
Thanks
Scott
