Yes I did all that even renaming the memory card and doing a refresh then but still there were the ghost albums and ghost artists, both were empty when I opened them. I had to uninstall any apps that were installed on the memory card in preparation for formatting the card but was told it could not be formatted as apps were using the memory card. I powered down, removed the battery and held down the power button for ten seconds as a Nokia tech told me should be done if you have a stubbin phone crash or issue that won't go away after a reboot. I powered up but things were the same. So I put the card in a card reader and deleted all folders and files on it, and put the 32gig card back in the phone and after a couple of seconds most of the folders and contents were created. On opening the music player the ghost albums and artists were gone. a While later I discovered nokia maps gps software would not work correctly and the navigation voice guideance both driving and walking were back at none. So I logged into my nokia account and fixed that, checking with file manager what was recreated on the memory card so if I have to ever repeat the process I would know what folders and files needed to be copied to my pc first so I can replace them , out of interest the folder citties and a file called qf are needed for the nokia gps programs to work correctly using your saved settings. I did look in all the folders on the card trying to locate the music player's library files but could not find any file or folder name likely to be part of the music player data system. Some of the ghost albums and artist names were from books I had copied to the phone, read then deleted. Unfortunately they were not removed from the music library. Most books when removed are also deleted from the music player library.

In your music player, have u tried to refresh the Library? by doing so, it
will add and remove info on your audio files on both phone and card. If the
file is no more at the location, it should remove it.

Subject: [Talks] e72 music player issues.

Hi,
there are several albums and artists listed in my music library which
I can't delete. If I remove the memory card they are not displayed
but when I put the memory card back in they are back in the
library. When I try to delete them I get an error message file not
found operation canceled . I've even removed all the sound [np3]
files and subfolders from the memory card so in sound files there are
just the two subfolders you can't remove digital sounds and tones.
If I copy one of the albums to the memory card already in the library
then there are two albums of the same name.
Any activity on one of these ghost albums or artists generates the
same error message
file not found operation canceled. on My old n95 you could see and
even edit the play list but on the e72 I can't fine any play list.
I'm at the stage now of considering uninstalling all installed apps
on the memory card and formatting the card.
In the past renaming the memory card using a card reader a new music
library would be constructed.
I installed y browser hoping it would let me see, edit or remove the
play lists or music library files so the e72 would create a new one.
There are 8 ghost albums and 16 ghost artist names I can not open or
remove. Hopefully someone will have a solution if not I'll try
formatting the memory card for as I say when it's not present the
music library is empty apart from a few mp3 tones I have in the phone
memory sound folder so I'm assuming the music library files must be
on the memory card.
