Then plug it in to the charger in case it has gone flat, you can turn on the phone while it is plugged im to the power supply, generally you hear a little bleep sound when you plug in the charger, this can take up to 30 seconds depending on how flat the battery is. For instance can you tell us a little more. Do you have your menu set to grid view or list view? I think list view is preferable. Give examples of where the arrow keys work. If you are reading a text message is your cursor mode set to character or origional? Some times what happends when you slide close the phone is you slide it close to far and the screen turns 90 degrese. At that point, the Up/Down will do nothing and the Left/Right perform the function of the Up/Down being the screen is rotated. So by sliding open the phone to uncover the dialing keypad causes the screen to turn back up right. So that the Up/Down are Up/Down and the Left/Right are Left/Right.
