the only thing that i noticed when inputting the required information
for the incoming and outgoing servers was that they were both the same.
in my situation this was mail.btinternet.com, so working on that
principle i would have your friend use the same information for their
incoming and outgoing servers.
of course it would not be mail.btinternet.com that was used but the aol
details.
the chances are that because the incoming is fine then using the same
information in the outgoing field would work.

ok i got a workaround with the e mail problem on my nokia e5.
i used google to see if i could find a solution and within the nokia
forums i found out that the e5 had a glitch when setting up mail
boxes.
i followed the instructions that were given on the forum and set up
the mail box manually instead of using the presets that we had on the
phone yesterday.
