the only thing that i noticed when inputting the required information for
the incoming and outgoing servers was that they were both the same.
in my situation this was mail.btinternet.com, so working on that principle i
would have your friend use the same information for their incoming and
outgoing servers.
of course it would not be mail.btinternet.com that was used but the aol
details.
the chances are that because the incoming is fine then using the same
information in the outgoing field would work.

Hi Stephen, I have a friend wanting me to tell him why he cannot send
outgoing mail but can receive it on his Nokia N95. He has an AOL account
but his mobile provider is T-Mobile. Now I recall yours was a BT like my
own but I am wondering how I could tell him what settings for his outgoing.
The example given is Gmail with the ports for Gmail given so not sure what
to suggest. Any ideas please?

Glad yours is now up and running. Do you know about how to set an e-mail
sound to alert you when a new e-mail comes in? That is done in the
options
you choose in Profiles.

hi elanor.
ok i got a workaround with the e mail problem on my nokia e5.
i used google to see if i could find a solution and within the nokia
forums i found out that the e5 had a glitch when setting up mail boxes.
i followed the instructions that were given on the forum and set up the
mail box manually instead of using the presets that we had on the phone
yesterday.
