You would probably need to contact a dealer to do this.

STEPHEN, UNDERSTOOD ABOUT THE NEW SIM ID AND OLD ONE IS INDEED TOTALLY
DIFFERENT. I AN NOT TELLING TO RESTORE LICENSE FROM OLD SIM TO NEW SIM.
BUT, WHAT CONCERN ME NOW IS, EVEN TRYING TO RESTORE LICENSE VIA PHONE,
AFTER
FORMATING, NUANCE TALKS SERVER IS NOT RESPONDING AT ALL.
IS NUANCE TALKS STILL ABLE TO PROVIDE SIM LICENSE IF NEED TO CHANGE TO A
NEW
SIM?
With warmest regards..

Doesn't matter! If you get a new Sim! You need to buy a transfer license
from the old Sim to the new Sim. Restoring the OLD license will not work
on
the new Sim. The Sim ID number will be different.
Like Brad has stated! If you cell provider is wanting you to get a new
sim
and your old one is still working! I would ignore what the cell provider
is
wanting you to do being it isn't neccessary. 3G is built on top of GSM so
your old phones will still work.

our friend worry is just one of a few reason why we need to change the
sim
card. e.g, faulty sim card could be another one, etc
and the solution needed is on the changed if happen due to whatever
reason,
on the license, is not whether need to change the sim card or not, which
is
just a temporary solution..
a bigger question mark is, Where & how to get back the license on a new
sim
card?
even to restore the license over the phone, the nuance talks server is
now
not responding at all. i tried many times , but still failed. now i am
doing
it manually, where before i use to use the restore license method over
the
phone.
just my opinion. a better solution is much needed.
With warmest regards..

I wouldn't worry about getting a new sim card. The one you have should
be
fine. The 3G signal is built on top of the GSM signal so is basically
sent
out with the GSM signal. So in other words no need to change sim cards.

Subject: [Talks] Requesting for the replacement of my simcard
Dear lister,
I have Nokia C5 and have been held a Sim-based license of Nuance Talks
more
than six years. I got a terrible problem at the moment and would like
to
hear some feedbacks from other talks’ experience users.
AIS which is a known mobile operator in Thailand, will launch the 3G
service on the international standard 2.1-gigahertz frequency to serve
their
customer during this month. Please refer the folowing URL for more
detail,
they were drawn out from two local newspapers in Thailand:
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/348897/thailand-3g-era-officially-starts
and
http://www.nationmultimedia.com/business/AIS-soft-launches-3G-2-1GHz-service-aims-for-20000-30203756.html
They request existing customers who had used their old simcard to get a
new
one for free at their shop now onward. I tried to negotiate with my
local
operator like their call agent and shop staff, and inform them that I
cannot
change my simcard with some reasons; however, they don’t think I can
use
my
old simcard any longer after the official launch of 3G service during
these
couple of month. What should I do if my Talk license bases on this
simcard
that needs to be replaced very shortly.
I tried to contact my distributor who I bought the product from their
site,
and forwarded them the payment confirmation statement in the past for
their
reference. Unfortunately, I didn’t hear anything from them for five
days
up
to now. What should I do?
Sincerely,
Eakachai
