hi alan and all those who tried to help out with this problem.
ok i have got it sorted and it did not involve me calling my service
provider.
her is what i did.
i went to menu, tools, settings, phone, call divert and went through the 3
options there and pressed options on each one and cancelled the divert.
hope this helps anyone else with this problem.

hi Stephen,
dont know how to explain regards to this "active diverts" issue, but i'll
try my best.
1. this issue is related to your network operator. i assume your number
has voicemail attached to it, therefore whenever you make a
call, it will alert you that other calls will now forward to voicemail.
2. my 2nd assuming is that you requested your network operator to turn
off your voicemail/miss call alert service, at some point the
switch off does not completely done, you will then hear the call diverts
announcement eatch time you make a call.
3. you better call to your network customer service to get more helps.
but however, mostly those frontline CS may not know what you
talking about.

the thing is that it happens whenver or whoever i make a call to.
this is the only time i have ever had this happen with a nokia phone.
if noone on this list knows anything about it i will try and get the
answer

I could be wrong but I believe it means that if you are calling a number
which has been diverted then your phone with Talks is alerting you to
the
fact that this facility is enabled on your phone.

when i amake a call on my n95 it will announce "note, active diverts"
followed by calling whoever i am calling.
can anyone say what active diverts are??
is there a setting i can change to get rid of this?
i am using a nokia n95, talks 5.20 and am on the o2 network.
