To upgrade the firmware on your Nokia N86, please do the following: Note: Please make sure your N86 has at least a 75% charge on the battery to avoid any issues during the upgrade process. You may also connect your device to an AC adapter during the upgrade process for redundancy. 1. Turn on your phone and then press * # 0 0 0 0 #. This key sequence will display your current firmware. 2. Press the left-selection key to bring up the options menu and press select on the first option, which should be: "Check for updates". 3. Confirm with the left-selection key when asked if you want to connect to the internet. 4. Use your up/down arrow keys to select the internet connection type. Note: In your situation, you want to connect to a connection called AT&T Media Net. You should next hear a message letting you know that the update process is in progress. If there are any updates, A dialog will open displaying the available updates. -----Original Message----- From: talks-boun...@talksusers.com [mailto:talks-boun...@talksusers.com] On Behalf Of Jim L Sent: Monday, October 03, 2011 11:55 PM To: 'Talks Mailing List' Subject: [Talks] Updating n86 firmware Heya folks, Loaded up me nokia software updater and had only 2 choices download and exit, clicked on download and it installed the latest version of updater which doesn't seem to be Jaws 12 friendly at all once it went to the new version, so I uninstalled and reinstalled my old version again. Can I update my firmware as a blind person alone on my n86 without losing my talks? And what are the steps to do this? Cheers, Jim _______________________________________________ Talks mailing list Talks@talksusers.com http://lists.talksusers.com/mailman/listinfo/talks Hosting of this list provided courtesy of: eHosting Limited: http://www.ehosting.com/ and Talknav Inc. http://www.talknav.net/ _______________________________________________ Talks mailing list Talks@talksusers.com http://lists.talksusers.com/mailman/listinfo/talks Hosting of this list provided courtesy of: eHosting Limited: http://www.ehosting.com/ and Talknav Inc. http://www.talknav.net/
