I'm a thumb typer, 100%. I hold the phone vertically with the screen facing
my body, brace the back with my fingers and just let my thumbs do all the
work on the keypad. I was taught this position by a sighted qwerty user, and
now that I'm used to it it feels very natural and easy. The little raised
dot in the "G" helps me orient myself in the keypad and Is utterly
invaluable. I'm probably not as fast as Timothy, but can definitely hold my
own.

As for me, I hold my E73 Mode with my left hand mainly, and type with my
thumb on my left hand, and use multiple fingers to type with my right. Not
sure where the habit developed, but hey. There you have it.

As for predictive text, I never had it on, figuring that it was pointless. I
type reasonably fast on my phone, and as there aren't multiple letters or
punctuation assigned to a single button, it would probably be more of a
hindrance than a help. I type around maybe three to four letters a second on
my phone, so that should tell you how proficient I am on a QWERTY keyboard.
