I am staying with the previous versions of talks and eloquence. I did not
hear the scratchy or hissing noise on the other e72 but the volume was
softer by about a fifth and with hearing problems that's the last thing I
need. The previous version of talks was very good it is the nokia firmware
that gave most list members problems. We tend to forget that and lay the
blame at the door of the talks producers when truly the blame belongs to
nokia.
I think in future we should leave firmware upgrades alone unless we have
problems that the upgrades will fix.
I think one day an upgrade will come along that the talks producers will be
able to do nothing about with out building the program from scratch. Even
mobile speak can't give it's users access to the email client.
You wait and see how nice the previous version of talks works with your e72
running firmware
51.018. We all had this combination then we went and broke the
accessibility and upgraded the firmware and now we expect nuance to fix what
we broke.
Nuance should use the talks sms mews feature to either recommend a given
firmware upgrade or advise us to avoid it like the plague. I know such
posts are put on this list but not all talks users are members.

Well with firmware
51.018 all works so well with talks. Set my email up a while ago and it
works perfectly. I wonder if you took a handset to a nokia care centre if
they would roll back the firmware to the version you asked for.
It's just so nice having a phone, firmware and talks that work so well
together.
I think now that unless I have a problem that an upgrade would fix I won't
upgrade this handset. If future releases of talks make some apps work
that
we currently can't use I would upgrade the talks version otherwise I will
leave things as they are on this e72-2.

if you're refering to the symbol list that comes by pressing the next to
the edit key the, for that, you got to press the same key twice. if
you're
talking about talks being able to read the symbols inside the smses,
then,
that is something that has been intorduced with this version. for
example,
it just says 'I' when you type in :) in a message. even the installation
of the eloquence with an enhanced dictionary also doesn't seem to have
improved things.

The people that are having issues with the e72. Can you please provide
what
firmware you have on the phone and if it is branded or not to the cell
provider or not. However the firmware version is required. Brandede or
not
is optional but if you know that information include it. To find out
firmware version, do a star pound/hash/number 000 0 pound/hash/number
while
at the standby screen. The standby screen is the screen that shows you
the
cell providers name and is the first screen you land on after turning on
your phone and the screen reader is done coming up.
