various talks cursors? which ones? I don't know if you are refering to words, characters & original etc? well, at times there's a dying need to go character by character, especially while reading the serial numbers from once email account to enter into some programme but in situations such as those, I find myself absolutely helpless. could someone please suggest any workarounds or way out for this?

Barry I put the e72 I was using back in it's box as the latest firmware version is a shocker.
Luckily I purchased 2 e72 handsets as I like this model very much.
I only upgraded the spare handset the one time to firmware version 051.018. It came with the version prior to that release which I remember had a problem with mail box setups. At least I know there was a reason I implemented 051.018. Not long after talks version 5.20 3 came out and fixed the accessibility problems including the symbol list it also made the help system work nicely and supported the radio especially internet radio.

Apart from the accessibility issues with the latest firmware: which the latest talks release has gone part way to fix there is the issue of using bluetooth and wifi at the same time. In all firmware releases up until the latest one you could use bluetooth and wifi at the same time Now the latest firmware won't allow you to do this. If you have wlan scan on and start using a bluetooth device the wlan status is normally
no wlans found.
If it does find one and you attempt a connection the bluetooth connection will either drop out for a few seconds or completely. I know this is the case with bluetooth audio devices. I don't know if keyboards and or Braille displays are effected in the same way as I don't have either of these devices to test that sort of bluetooth connection and wifi together.

Have you tried different talks cursor modes to read parts of web pages character by character. The new nokia browser in the latest firmware is no where near as good for talks users as the old browser is in the earlier firmware in my view. The new browser caused many of the problems the talks people are trying to fix.

hi Bernard,
I am sure you must have noticed, as I did that, the latest eloquence has a slightly different voice, which has impacted some bit of clarity. furthermore, a couple of other sad changes have also come in as a result of the latest firmware upgrade for e72, wherein, it no more announces the names of the people who have sent the smses, which it did earlier. one of the features that I had been waiting in new talks releases is the ability to read word by word & character by character on the web. it is quite an important feature, which, it seems, thus far, has not been conveyed to the makers of the software. I was told that, this & the other lists for talks are monitored by nuance in search of feedback & features but this one, seems to have skipped their attention.
can I request someone to convey this feature request to the makers?
   bharat.

Well I just remembered my new spare e72-2 still in the box and only firmware upgraded the one time to the firmware version who's help files worked well with the version of talks before this latest release, not only that the email client worked perfectly as did the browser and symbol list. I'm very pleased I forgot about that handset as far as upgrades go. I think it's about time it stopped being a spare. I've just taken it from it's box, loaded the battery and connected the charger. I'm not sure if I should put the latest talks on it or just upgrade from talks_501_1_signed to talks_520_3_signed. I may have to re purchase a couple of apps like phone wallet, bet timer and walking hotspot. Still it's a lot cheaper than switching to another platform I don't like anyway.
I was trying to sell the new e72-2 now I am pleased I did not.
