hi,
the quad band is refer to 850MHZ, 900MHZ, 1800MHZ and 1900MHZ GSM signal. which 
mean, with the nokia N86, you can travel almost all 
country around the world. i believe in europe most country and asia using 900 
and 1800 MHZ but in US, they usually 850 and 1900 MHZ 
GSM. but take note, this quadband doesn't apply to 3G signal, because 3G is 
using WCDMA which have a different type of signal.

The 8MP refers to the 8 megapixel camera. I also believe it's a quad
band phone, meaning it can be used in countries that do not use the
normal GSM frequencies.
