I'll first start out with saying that denises issue is fixed. It was a human
error and nothing wrong with the icon file on her n86.

Now to the question she asked.

Ok. This is what i did and it makes it easy to do. First i looked at the
contact list using the object viewer. I noticed on 3rd edition phones that it
had one icon before each name. I also noted that the subtitle line also had one
icon and no text. So we'll start with the subtitle line. When you are in the
contact list in Skype you'll notice that there are 5 tabs. You'll also notice
when you arrow left and right it doesn't tell you what tab your in. So again
make sure that you are on the contact list. Now press soft key2 to back out one
screen. On this screen, you'll see a list of 6 items. The last one being
settings. That isn't one of the tabs. Now make note of the first 5 items in
this list. Nothing else write them down. Now go up to the contact entry and
select that one. At this point go into the object viewer down to the subtitle
line and select it. Then go down to the only icon on this list and select it.
Now arrow down and type in the word contacts for the replacement, and arrow
down to application and press right arrow to change it to Skype. Now press soft
key2 to exit and answer yes to save your changes. Now you have just gave that
screen a name. Press right arrow to the next tab. Repeat the steps above to
name the 2nd tab use the 2nd name that you wrote down above. Keep doing this
until you get all 5 tabs named. At this point when you arrow left and right you
will find that the tabs are spoken.

Ok now get back to the contact list.
If you remember there is only one icon before each contact entry and we still
need to label it. So being we don't know what the icons are for, lets see if we
can find a list of some of the status of them. So now press Options. Arrow down
to my profile and lets see what is under there. This is PROBABLY going to give
you the best chance of finding what you need. Look at that! The first option
has to do with status of you. That looks good. So select it. Now you will find
a list of 5 items. Arrow throu the list. That away you know what you can change
your status to. Ok so far so good. Now we need to see if there is any icons for
each of the statuses. So lets bring up the object viewer. Arrow down to the
line that shows the status that you wir on. Look at that! There is a icon
before it. So far this is looking good. Ok. Select that line. Now arrow down to
the icon and select it. Now arrow down to the replacement line and type in the
status example online. Now arrow down to application and press right arrow to
change it to Skype. Press soft key2 and answer yes to save changes. Now you are
back at the status screen. Now you will notice it will say the status twice
being it is now reading the icon and the word to the right of it. So far so
good. However we still don't know if this icon works for the main contact list.
So lets go and see. Why label all of them if it isn't going to work. So press
soft key2 to back out of my status screen until you get back to the contact
list. Now arrow throu some of them and see what happens. Wow!! Look at that! It
now speaks online. Cool! That is great! So lets go and label the other status
icons. So go back into my profile and online status and label the other icons.
Note you will find that two of them are the same. Back that one offline. Now
when you go back to the contact list, you will find most if not all of them
have a status that is read out.

The above is my thought while i was working on labeling the Skype icons. This
away you can see how i did it and my thoughts while i was doing it. Remember
some of you long time followers of this list! I said i do computer programming.
I creat startup, shutdown, and code that watches the computer for issues. This
is why i took the steps above and now you may have a better understanding of
why i took the way i did at labeling the icons.

Ok that is all of that. Now you may notice'! There are still a few icons that
aren't being spoken on the contact list screen for some of the contacts. In
this case! You will need to use a computer to see what the status of those
people are. Then go and label them in Talks using the object viewer. Remember
you must be on the same person on your phone that doesn't have the labeled icon
as your pc in order to label the icon on the phone. That away you are on the
correct icon and have the correct status from the pc.

Note. The phone will not show all the statuses that your pc will show. There
are a total of about 6 of them for the phone.

Steven how do you tell what the icons are. I don't even know what
should be there so how do you know what to call them. Do you compare
them to the PC version to see what should be showing? I don't use the
PC version, but I guess I could set it up if it helps to know which
icons are there.
