Hello Brian, This manifestation can occur if you lowered the volume on the phone while using your headset. The next time this happens, try making a call when your phone speaker goes silent on you. After you think that the phone has connected the call, press key2 to turn speaker phone mode on, and try raising the volume on the side of your phone. After you get the volume high enough, then press key2 to turn off speaker phone mode and see if you can hear through regular phone ear speaker.

A few times while in this mode, I was able to get out of 'headphones' mode, but did this accidentally and don't know what I did to activate that. As I don't want to be carrying headphones all the time and need to be able to hear through the regular receiver in the headset/cell phone, I really hope someone has some ideas as this has been a nagging problem.
