I am not a lawyer, but my common sense says that this is not true for
the case where one is describing the company's own brand and not
"stealing" the slogan or using it to represent something which doesn't
belong to the company.

Here's a random site using Nike's slogan to describe Nike itself. I bet
they didn't ask for permission. There are infinite occurrences like
