walk on it doesn't sound like a reasonable criterium (you can walk on any 
pebble for instance).

why has it to be made of stone? What about concrete, masonry, steel, aluminum, 
copper (say metal in general;-) ), wood, clay, snow/ice ...?
I wouldn't require any particular material.
