Look this is just a silly argument. All sorts of "drafts" are out there on the web, publically available even though they're not finally "published". I do this all the time with academic work; the W3C does it all the time with its RFCs for web standards. This thread is the most depressing thread I have witnessed on the tagging-list. It's not even about a proposal! It's not even about changing the proposal process! It's such a chuffing tiny innocent suggestion, and it's thoroughly bikeshedded into the ground! I think I had better unsubscribe from the tagging list, for my own sanity. I wish no offence to any of you but this is crazy. Whatever it is that we do to improve OSM collectively, my participation in this tagging list is not a healthy way to do it.
