> ... how these emotions might be represented sonically > ... in order to maximise empathy
How emotions can be represented in any form is of course an interesting *artistic* question. But when this becomes a research project 'in order to maximise empathy' this feels very close to an attempt at developing techniques for subliminal manipulation. And no matter how noble and justified the original motivation, you can be sure that the results can and will be used for less positive ends. Societal problems like sexual harassment need positive action based on rational considerations, and not on emotional manipulation. We have more than enough of the latter on social media. I'm sorry I have to say this, but this project looks to me very much like an effort to fit in with the excessively 'woke' climate that is engulfing the academic world. -- FA _______________________________________________ Sursound mailing list Sursound@music.vt.edu https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/sursound - unsubscribe here, edit account or options, view archives and so on.
