I was just refering to this part:

“I know Harpex is only first order”,

trying to give some alternative.

What you write seems to be a good and nice way to upsample 2h1v signals.
(Why didn’t you publish an AES paper about? ;-)

Best regards

Stefan

Compass doesn’t do spaced array decodes.

If you wanted to up mix Octomic with Compass (and it doesn’t do this automatically)….. Up mix the first order components to 2nd order first, which will give you something for that channel, then add that to the empty 2nd order channel before you up mix above 2nd order ..:)

I think COMPASS should upsample from 2nd order to 3rd order (and higher).

However, the Octomic is not giving full 2nd order. (2h1v)

You still could set the missing element (FuMa R element, ACN 8) to 0 and do this.
Has anybody tried this?

Best,

Stefan
