Thanks for your answer Jörn,

have you got any of those, and if you have are you using them on the field and how do they behave and sound for nature recordings?

Thanks.

Emanuele

Soundfield ST450
Core Sound Tetramic Microphone

you can find reviews for both on the web, some with measurements included.

Oktava MK012AM
AGM MR1

both arrays are really huge, so their usefulness is debatable. the agm should have amazing single-capsule performance (it's four dpas after all), but i doubt it's very good as a whole, and it's pretty much unavailable. plus the cost is at least that of four 4011, which makes all other offers look very good in comparison.

if you want to get your feet wet wrt ambisonic recordings, it's pretty much the tetramic, or possibly the brahma, which comes in a very compelling package with recorder included, but which i haven't used yet.

best,

jörn
