however, i think there is still demand for jconvolver, because it is a lot less hassle with JACK. and since my ambi workflow includes ardour and the amb plugins on jack, those people who i set up ambi rigs for usually end up with the same software stack :-D

i'm aware that coreaudio applications can be integrated into a jack graph, but i've had issues when trying that with more than one application in the past.
