Hi,

I dislike hand-holding features in software; if I want to save a file I just want it to save it. Anyway, it's always worked for me in SM, I think I must have turned it off in Edit:Preferences:Browser:Downlaods many years ago.

Anyway, I was trying to help a friend (by phone) with a really simple question:

"How can I save a PDF attachment from an email in SM?"

I explained to right-click the attachment, and choose "save as"; should be easy, but they were (apparently) bombarded with pop-ups; the first one saying a script was taking a long time to run, and then they were presented with "Download Manager" which they found really confusing.

Two questions;

Q1. Does "Download Manager" really appear when you save an email attachment - I thought it was only for http downloads from web sites?

Q2. Best way to turn it off completely?

Thanks.
