OK. IF you have upgraded directly from 2.0.x to 2.2 (that is, if you wasn't using 2.1 previously), this sounds like a case of failure of the automatic conversion to the new bookmarks system. It happens sometimes, but the reasons are still being investigated. The solution, though, is simple. Open the bookmark manager, open the menu Tools/Import HTML, select "File", navigate to your Seamonkey profile and select bookmarks.html.
