OK. IF you have upgraded directly from 2.0.x to 2.2 (that is, if you
wasn't using 2.1 previously), this sounds like a case of failure of the
automatic conversion to the new bookmarks system. It happens sometimes,
but the reasons are still being investigated.

The solution, though, is simple. Open the bookmark manager, open the
menu Tools/Import HTML, select "File", navigate to your Seamonkey
profile and select bookmarks.html.

This was SUPPOSED to happen automatically on first run of SM 2.1 or
above, but as I said, sometimes it fails for still unknown reasons.

But of course with 2.3 almost here,
bugs with 2.1 or 2.2 or upgrade there-to will not be addressed.
No bug fix releases! isn't that the new policy?

Why not at least add a list of post upgrade checks which the upgrader should do to verify the upgrade proper completion? and a list of manual
work around fixups to the release notes.
Yes that is an admission that the upgrade is imperfect. But surely it
is better than keeping quiet in hopes that the upgrader will not
encounter the problems.
Also it wouldn't be considered a bug fix release and so break the
new policy!
