Hi! I am at the same state, sizeof(Star1)=32. If I prevent star files from being found, (not "Access denied", just "file not found"), it starts with high framerate.
It appears the OpenGL diagnostics are no longer logged. Would be helpful to have back (e.g. info on ANGLE vs. native OpenGL, driver versions, etc. ...). The text which is displayed together with 3D geometry (planets etc.) is surrounded by a few spurious dots. (This has happened occasionally before.)
