Yes I knew the high frame rate was lack of stars but with no stars loaded in
the earlier versions the fps never went above about 100
Here is part of my log file. I left off the rest because it is a few hundred
lines of errors caused by non reading of the star catalogues and is thus
irrelevant But the rest might give you some clues.
I have another computer with Windows 7 but I cannot get it to compile
simplegles-qml yet in either Msys or Qtcreator. It can't find a few things. I
think I will need to re-install everything and start again.
No luck at all with Linux Ubuntu 12.04. I installed the linux Qt5.1.1 program
but compiling can't find any of the files yet. I edited the cmakecache.txt but
no luck yet I think I need to run a "export path" command
I also tried to compile sound but the sound is based on phonon which is not
included with Qt 5.1.1 so it crashed.

loading times and very high frame rates. :)
I am not getting that far. Stellarium crashes with the following assertion
failure in the log:

D:\stellarium\simplegles-qml\src\core\modules\ZoneArray.cpp, line 180
Some debugging shows that the size of Star1 is 32. Looking at the code, it
looks like there may be some problems with the compiler or its flags on Windows.
