Hey Ken- Good to hear from you as always. I was given the design criteria from the EOR. Since he spec’d out a K14.0 CMDA head, and I can’t find one, I was curious if Class I-IV fell under the “General Storage” so I could use a K11.2 instead.

And, where 12.6.3 comes into play is if a required criteria for one commodity/method/packaging/height/ceiling height are adjacent to an area with a different set of criteria, then the separation or extension of the design for the more demanding (Say Class IV, Racks, 20' high, cartoned, 25' ceiling) must extend at least 15' into the lower demanding (e.g Class II, Floor, 20' high, cartoned, 25' ceiling). Now if the separation does meet the criteria of 12.3 (1)-(2)-(3) then extending the protection is not required. Remember that such a requirement does not impact the size/selection of the remote area, merely the spacing and density required. Yes, it may impact the most remote area selection, however it makes no requirement for the size to be adjusted. sincerely, Ken Wagoner, SET Parsley Consulting 500 West Mechanic Street Harrisonville, Missouri 64701-2235 Phone: (760) 745-6181 Visit the website<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=http%3a%2f%2fwww.parsleyconsulting.com%2f&c=E,1,Y5zKJKPEh1mBEBqSR-VE9cUKl5y-eyP8BpvmE_5j9ZqW2eJbNphYzrCMBZ-2YuX6d-RRkHI4gQ1FV-cvOeCfRC58uZS9NiToZv2mx7909oCqLvCW_n5hDHeK&typo=1> On 9/11/2023 10:18 AM, Brian Harris wrote: Would 12.6.3 (NFPA-13 2013) apply for class I-IV?
