We have come across an antifreeze system that has not been serviced in a while and have been asked to replace the old (non-listed) glycol antifreeze with listed antifreeze per NFPA 25.
The system definitely exceeds 40 gallons, so any calculations on it should be done as darcy-weisbach. I feel like I saw somewhere that you are allowed to just swap out old non-listed antifreeze with listed antifreeze without performing hydraulic calculations using the properties of the new antifreeze - that they are close enough. However, I cannot seem to find where that is actually written down. Does that ring a bell with anyone? Am I mis-remembering? Thanks! Matt Grise
