Mike, I'm on a similar system.  My access is pretty much limited to
user_prefs and sa-learn. We've got SA 2.55 here, and if history is any
indication should be on 2.6 about two weeks after it goes live.

What is it you really need to do? Maybe I can help share my experience
with you.

Note that I don't auto-delete anything. Spam is flagged, and then client
filters move the spam out of the way when the user retrieves or reviews
mail. Would that be sufficient for you?
