My mistake I think. I diff'd the amavisd chroot ruleset
(/var/amavisd/usr/share/spamassassin) from the authoritative
/usr/local/share/spamassasin and saw they were different.

I solved this by refreshing the ruleset in the amavisd chroot from the
set in /usr/local/share/spamaassassin.

I was at first thinking it had something to do with $bayes_min_spam_num,
since the behaviour of SA with a new bayes database acts the same.
But this didn't make sense though really since I was able to see the
data in the bayes database using "sa-learn --dump".
