Ahhhh. That explains why I never heard of it. My ISP might run an smtp server, but you couldn't prove it by me, and I don't have access to it. I run sendmail 8.12.8 locally. Thanks for the info though. If anyone using AOL needs to hear from me, I'll tell them to complain to whatever AOL genius decided that this would be a good anti-spam measure.
