I've noticed that Columbia University has an SA rule for no reverse DNS:
Have you used this technique before? For me, it was an incessant pain in the ass. You will be bombarded with complaints. The very reason that I'm using SA is that host-based blocking, with the exception of RBL's, is like stepping on cockroaches.
In the case of other ISP's, the typical response is something like "Oops, I forgot to update the serial number in my zone file. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!" Your average corporate IT Weenie, however, will cop an attitude. She's an MCSE, after all. ;-) She will tell you that your server is the only one rejecting messages from her server. Your customer, meanwhile, will be screaming that the very fate of his company depends on the timely receipt of this message.
Just ONCE, I'd like to hear a customer say "My brother in Des Moines sent this filthy joke to me and I didn't receive it. No big deal. Can you see if there's something that you can do when you get a minute?"
