No, as per the file itself, only scores can go there.


Put the rules you want to test into your local.cf, or in with the spamassassin rules.

(note: if you run mass-check from a directory tree of an unpacked tarball, it will use ../rules/*.cf instead of /usr/share/spamassassin/*.cf, so you don't need to modify your site rules for this)


I've tried running mass-check followed by a directory path but that didn't
seem to work.  Do I need to build an mbox file rather than just a folder, or
is there another way to run mass-check?

If you actualy read the top of the mass-check file itself, the command line parameters are documented in the comments at the top.


It's a bit sparse documentation wise, but the information you need should be there.
