It turned out to be easiest to run this on the command line as the results are many (and most not helpful... to me... I'm sure they're helpful to somebody) >The debugging output might give you a clue as to why it's not >working. There may be permissions problems, or maybe SA is trying to >read a different user_prefs file. The debugging output should tell you. yeah. Big clue. For one thing, a couple of user preference options have vanished in the "upgrade" to 2.55. Unmentioned in the README. Sigh. debug: Failed to parse line in SpamAssassin configuration, skipping: report_header 1 debug: Failed to parse line in SpamAssassin configuration, skipping: defang_mime 0 (line numbers would help a lot in this output ...) Anyone now using 2.4* with options report_header or defang_mime should be wary if you "upgrade". Apparently these were both rolled into the new "report_safe feature", except the README fails to mention this. I also found a Perl syntax error, and a handful of spamassassin syntax errors, mysteriously introduced in my copy of the "standard" user_prefs file. Does SpamAssassin have any kind of logging mechanism? For errors and success only, not complete debugging diagnostics? Robert - Thanks.
