I think it probably does have to do with permissions -
here's what some of my post-Spamassassin procmail filtering
looks like:
:0
* X-Spam-Level: \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*
{
LOG="SA High Score "
:0
/var/mail/badspamfile
}
(Note: this is just a simple recipe that counts up the
number of * marks in the Spam-level field - in this case, it
will get the email with 10 points & up):
:0
* ^X-Spam-Status: Yes
{
LOG="SA Score 4-9 "
:0
/var/mail/spambox
}
(This sends all the rest of the Spamassassin tagged email,
that didn't get tagged by the above recipe, to a POP box
which is set up just like a user account on my system)
Anyway, it sounds like you are doing the same thing, so it
should work if the path is correct. This is in the
procmailrc file in the /etc directory -- If don't think you
could do the same from a .procmailrc file under the user
directory, so that could be your problem. [I just read
somewhere that the file in the /etc directory has full
system write permissions, whereas in other directories it
wouldn't.]

I can't help you there as I am doing procmail on a system wide
basis, so I really haven't looked at how to set it up on a
per-user basis. I think there is probably a way to set
things up the way you want, but I'm not the one who can
explain how.
