I had problems making the SA that came with redhat-8.0 work properly.

I removed the rpm and downloaded the source, followed the instructions like a good little boy and now it works.

I would recommend that as a first step.

I am using sendmail 8.12/imaps

allowing users to opt in and out is pretty easy...  just set it up with either the auto created pref files or mysql and use the CGI that you can get in the same directory as the source.

this gives you a web interface...

Subject: [SAtalk] Basic System Wide Setup (newbie)

Hi guys,

I’ve just setup spamassassin on a red hat linux 8.0 box.

I currently have sendmail 8.12 and imapd running. I’m able to get mail and send

I’ve also started spamd

Howeveer I’m pretty clueless on how to set up spamassin to work in this environment

I’d like to set up a system wide filter and allow users to opt in and out.

Any ideas how I can begin this. I’ve been reading the faq at spamassassin.org, however I’m having trouble getting started

Any help would really be appreciated

Thanks

Carmine
