We have Exchange systems for staff/student mailboxes. However, all the mail
comes into the Uni to two central Sun unix mailhubs. They run the Exim MTA
and SpamAssassin. I was told that all the Exchange mail has to enter the Uni
this way so that it could be spam checked by the mailhubs. We had so many
complaints of spam from staff that my 'powers that be' stated that the
mailhubs must run spam checking software (they didn't previously; they were
just used as an mta). I was told that the Exchange servers had no spam
checking software and they couldn't run any (!). I know zip about Exchange,
and whilst this sounded very odd, I was pleased that the unix boxes got a
bit more recognition in what they can do (- this is a very MS orientated
site). No help for your problem mind, but just thought you might want to
know :-)

Regards,

John.
