That is forgetting a lot of versatility in network access. I beleive I access most of the RBL servers through 2 satellite hops, thats means 1 second RTT. Add the response time, multiply by the number of tests, plus time out if razor is not answering, 30 seconds is not so uncommon. But this is only time spent on the networks, it does not consume resources (well memory while it is waiting, but no CPU) so I don't care.
