Not really, but your mail reader will think that. As Theo wrote (did I correct the attributions correctly?), it simply changes the Content-Type: header to text/plain. Your mail reader will see that and think the rest of the message is just plain old text. The attachments are still there (MIME is an ASCII encoding of stuff into a single stream) but you'll have to set the Content-Type: header back to some other "multipart" type if you want your mail reader to show the attachments as attachments. Do note that while setting defang_mime will correct the display problems of the SA report, it will "break" the display of HTML and other non-plain-text content. That is intentional.
