Hallo,

I run a USB card reader on my system,

        smartctl -a /dev/sdg
    or
        smartctl -x /dev/sdg

reports

smartctl 5.43 2012-06-30 r3573 [i686-linux-3.6.11-ODSbig] (local build)
Copyright (C) 2002-12 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net

/dev/sdg: Unknown USB bridge [0x058f:0x6362 (0x126)]
Smartctl: please specify device type with the -d option.

Use smartctl -h to get a usage summary

# ---------------------

The ID 058f:6362 belongs to
        Alcor FlashCard Reader/Writer

The reader has 4 Ports, /dev/sdd is filled with an CFcard, /dev/sde,
/dev/sdf and /dev/sdg are empty.

        smartctl -a /dev/sdd

reports the same error message.

Can I eliminate this message with a smartctl option?

Viele Gruesse!
Helmut
