I've just tried another CFcard-USB adapter, a really old one.

Same reaction, only another USB Bridge ID

        Unknown USB Bridge [0x0483:0x1307 (0x100)]

The ID belongs to STMicroelectronics, Cytronix 6in1 Card Reader

Has "smartctl" problems with such CFcard-USB adapters?
