For example, on slurm 10.05.6, the example config file says: StateSaveLocation=/tmp
Which is not the best place to write sensitive information, but it will for sure be there and will be writable by the slurm user. You can always create a directory somewhere else. For example, Debian packages use: StateSaveLocation=/var/lib/slurm-llnl/slurmctld And of course, the slurm-llnl is owned (chown) by the slurm user, as well as all subdirectories within it. If you are using Debian or Ubuntu, those directories should be there - just do a “ls -la /var/lib/slurm*” and check for yourself. 2016-11-07 22:27 GMT+01:00 Peixin Qiao <[email protected]>: > Hi, > > When I make slurm.conf, I am confused about the following note: > > NOTE: The parent directories for Slurm's log files, process ID files, > state save directories, etc. are not created by Slurm.
